Rockford High School Fitness Center is Open for Rockford Community Members! Take advantage of the state-of-the-art fitness facility at Rockford High School. The new Rockford High School Fitness Center was included the 2014 Rockford Public Schools Bond Project. The facility will be available to the community for use through a few different options. There is Yoga, Total Body Workout and Open Lift Access with guided support. Please see the descriptions below and register today at www.rpssignmeup.com or call 616-863-6322 to register.
The Open Lifts will meet Monday through Thursday nights from 7 – 9 p.m. A qualified supervisor will be on hand to assist with any questions or support in using the state of the art equipment.
The Yoga offered in collaboration with OMG! Yoga® is for ages 18 and up. Reduce your stress and have more energy with the help of our yoga instructors. Whether you are new to yoga or experienced, join us for a Yoga experience that welcomes all levels! Now is the time to begin the path to improving your health for both the physical and mental aspects of yourself. The OMG! Yoga® instructors bring a wealth of experience and knowledge with them.
Michele Fife has been a teacher of Yoga for 20+ years. She specializes in Hatha Yoga with a specialty in therapeutic Yoga. She has collaborated with Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in their wellness programs and appears daily across 14 counties sharing natural health and wellness on WOTV4.
Shannon Sadoski has 10+ years in the health and fitness industry. She creates yoga sequencing accessible to all, while offering unique challenges to improve overall body awareness, strength, flexibility and confidence. She is also certified as a natural food chef, in personal training and in corrective exercise guidance. She strives to empower people to take control of their health through fad-free eating, sweating and thinking.
Vanessa Benaway practices and teaches yoga to help students connect back to themselves, get stronger, and heal the body, mind and soul. She is a Rockford Native, and did her undergraduate studies in Psychology at Northern Michigan University. She also earned a graduate certificate in Integrated Holistic Health and Wellness at WMU, Vanessa has completed two 200-hour Yoga Teacher Trainings; one in Grand Rapids, in Hatha Yoga and one in Mysore, India in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga. She is passionate about fitness of all sorts, getting out into nature, and organic food/cooking.
The Total Body Workout Class(SHRED) is for ages 18 and up. Shred is a high intensity total-body workout class offered by i’move Physical Therapy®. Fast paced and safe, it’s specifically designed to rev up your metabolism and tone your body. If you are looking for a high energy, challenging class where you can push your limits, this is it. Gain strength, endurance, and build lean muscle while increasing your physical and mental stamina with an instructor who brings an impressive background to the fitness center classes.
Instructor Mike Klobucher, DPT, CMPT, FAFS, CSCS is a West Michigan native, former college athlete and a physical therapist practicing at i’move® in downtown Rockford. He has a Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Central Michigan University and is certified as an Orthopedic Manual Therapist and has completed the Fellowship in Applied Functional Science program through the Gray Institute. He has a strong passion for sports and exercise and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He owns and teaches at Rogue River CrossFit.
